IRS Installment Agreement Lawyers in Boise, ID
Idaho Tax Lawyers Help You Negotiate an IRS Installment Agreement
Honest with our clients and determined before the IRS
It’s a fact of life — we all have to pay taxes.

Sometimes financial plans go awry and leave you with a tax problem. If you made late tax payments, your debt is compounded, and the resulting penalties and interest can add up to a staggering tax bill. And the IRS has the resources and power to collect its money, adding a lot of stress to your financial burdens.

If you owe money to the IRS, it is in your best interest to take action. Our attorneys can help you with an IRS Installment Agreement or payment plan that allows you to make smaller, more manageable payments on your tax liability. At Boise law firm Martelle & Associates, P.A., our honest, experienced attorneys can determine whether you qualify for an IRS installment agreement and skillfully negotiate with the IRS on your behalf.
Different types of IRS installment agreements and payment plans
It is easier to meet the requirements for a payment plan if the amount you owe is small, but options are available even if you have a large tax liability.

Starting with the most simple type, payment plan options include:

-
Six-year streamlined installment agreement. If you owe less than $50,000, a typical payment plan would require full payment within six years. An installment agreement for less than $25,000 is relatively easy for a tax attorney to obtain. If your tax liability is more than $25,000, but less than $50,000 a normal payment plan would require full payment at the six-year mark. You must qualify for this type of Installment Agreement.
-
Full payment of taxes over a period longer than five years. This type of payment plan is more difficult to obtain, but it might be the only way you can pay your debt in full.
-
Non-collectible status. This status allows you to stop making payments for a certain time period.
-
Partial pay installment agreement (PPIA). With this option, you only pay a portion of the tax liability. This is the most difficult arrangement to obtain, although it can be easier than obtaining an Offer in Compromise.
Boise-based lawyers who give you a better chance with the IRS
To qualify for an IRS installment agreement, you need to prove that you are unable to pay the full tax debt immediately (unless you qualify for the five-year plan for a debt of under $50,000). In addition, you need to supply the IRS with financial statements and other information about your financial condition.

IRS employees who arrange for tax liability payment plans are very knowledgeable, and their goal is to get the largest possible payment from you. Negotiating with such employees takes skill and experience.

Our Boise tax attorneys have created a program to help our clients throughout the process so they can receive a fair installment agreement or qualify for non-collectible status.
